Widow Warrior

I joined the awful & tender club of widowhood in April 2016. I've established an entrepreneurial prize and a scholarship at Rasheed's alma maters, Duke University's Fuqua School of Business and St. Benedict's Prep.

My beautiful late husband, Rasheed, was killed in a hit and run incident in Orlando, Fla. on April 16, 2016.

In fact, it was also a record year for hit and runs in the state, and Central Florida lead the way. I'm fighting to crack down on the crime and to help law enforcement find the cowards who commit these despicable acts and cause immense pain to families everywhere.

Rasheed earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Duke University. He later earned his Master of Business Administration degree from Duke’s prestigious Fuqua School of Business. He was a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

After college, he followed his heart and became an entrepreneur. He co-founded AdRelief, a digital advertising agency. The marketing professional went on to build a strong career through positions at several Fortune 500 companies in Chicago, Cincinnati and Orlando. He worked on a variety of brands, increasing their digital, social and general performance. He relocated to Florida in 2012 after accepting a position at Darden Restaurants.

Rasheed will be remembered for his affable personality, strong faith in God, warm smile, courageous ambition and incredible strength.

A $10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the individuals who fled the scene of the crime that night. You’re urged to call Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS to help us find every person involved in killing this amazing man. You can remain anonymous.

I am working to establish an alert system in the state that would be similar to an Amber Alert system. If you would like to help, please contact the following Florida lawmakers:
